Is Your Computer Misbehaving?

Before You Panic There Are 5 Important Things to Check.

1. Give it a restart

   
   

It's the classic for a reason!

Before you restart, save anything you're working on. Then use the Restart option rather than simply switching the computer off.

On Windows:

Start → Power → Restart

Give it a minute to come back to life and see if the problem has disappeared.

You might be surprised how often a simple restart gets things moving again.

2.  Are your updates up to date?

Your computer and software regularly receive updates. If updates are waiting to be installed, it's worth letting them complete. Some updates include improvements, security fixes and changes that help your computer and software work properly. So, if your computer is behaving strangely, have a quick look to see whether you've got updates waiting.

3.  Is your computer overloaded?

Take a look at what's running.  How many programs are open? How many browser tabs have you got sitting there? If you've got a mountain of things open that you're not actually using, close some of them and see whether things improve.

Sometimes your computer just needs a little breathing room. 

4.  Does the problem keep coming back?

If you've restarted, checked the basics and the same problem keeps happening, don't just put up with it. A restart can help with a temporary problem, but a problem that keeps coming back could be telling you that something else needs attention.

That's when it's worth getting it checked.

5.  Is it super slow, how old is your computer?

If your computer has gradually become slower over time, it may be more than a temporary glitch. Older computers can struggle to keep up with newer software and the demands of modern business.

So, ask yourself:

How old is my computer? Is it getting slower? Is it taking longer to do the things I need it to do?

If the answer is yes, it might be time to consider an upgrade. This is where we can make things easy.
